Organization News

Our Annual Fiesta will be held Sunday, September 11, 2011 from noon to 4:00 p.m.   Celebrate the heritage of the California Rancho days.  Enjoy  folklorico dancers, mariachis and Pinata Party.  Sample handmade tortillas, quesadillas, Pozole, Menudo and Pan Dulce.  Stroll the grounds to see lace making, butter churning and wool spinning.  Tour the Machado Adobe, Freeman Land Office and Haskell Heritage Center.   Visit the Inglewood and Morningside high school alumni booths. 

 
 
Historical Society of Centinela Valley
 
 
 

The Historical Society of Centinela Valley was formed in 1964. It is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization. HSCV leases the Centinela Adobe Complex from the City of Inglewood and displays its collection of artifacts there. Tours of the facility are given on Sundays from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and by appointment.

Our Mission

The mission of the Historical Society of Centinela Valley is to acquire and preserve items of local historic significance, assist researchers and serve as host to school children, service clubs, foreign tourists and others who have interest in the local transitions from the Agricultural Ranchos to the Center of Aerospace and Technology.

 
 
 
 

The Centinela Adobe Complex includes the 1834 Ignacio Machado Adobe Residence, the 1888 Daniel Freeman Land Office with Carriage House and the Walter Haskell Heritage and Research Center.  The complex is located at 7634 Midfield Avenue, Los Angeles, California 90045.  It is surrounded by the community of Westchester and overlooks the San Diego Freeway.
